While fixing breakfast this morning, I thought to myself:
“Hmm, I think we should visit the mall today. Getting some fresh air would be great for us.”
But then I realized something; the malls aren’t open. Not only are the malls closed, but just about everything else is closed! Due to COVID-19, the way we would typically go about our lives is on hold. Being stuck at home can be a bit challenging, especially when you’re used to going out and enjoying all that the outside has to offer.
For those of you who may be home about ready to lose it, don’t fret! I’ve created a list of activities that you can do while you’re at home.
1. Start A Blog, YouTube Channel, or Podcast.
Hey, you? Yeah, you! I know you’ve had the desire to start a blog, podcast, or create a YouTube channel for quite some time now. The time is now to make those dreams and desires come true! Do your research, say your prayers, and then get to work! Comment your podcast, blog, and Youtube links in the comment section below. I cannot wait to see or hear your work!
2. Learn Something New
There’s always something to learn. Use this time to learn something new! Whether it’s learning how to knit or picking up a new language, use this time to expand your knowledge and skills.
3. Practice Self-Care
After you’ve been working all day and/or taking care of the kids, take some time for yourself. Drink a warm cup of tea, take a bubble bath, give yourself a manicure/pedicure, read your favorite book, etc. Whatever it is that you choose to do, make sure it’s something that’s going to bring peace and comfort to you.
4. Start (Or Finish) A Book
How many of you have a book sitting on your nightstand that you have yet to finish? Yeah, it’s okay. I have a few books on my nightstand that I haven’t finished yet either. Take some time in your downtime to complete those unfinished books.

5. Cook Something New
I’ll be the first to admit that cooking is not my area of expertise. Don’t get me wrong, I can cook some simple meals (spaghetti, burgers, baked chicken…), but preparing more complicated meals are out of the question. I’m taking advantage of not being able to enjoy restaurants like before. Learning how to cook proper meals is not only going to help me build my skills in cooking, but it’s going to save us a bit of money. If you’re like me and preparing meals is not your best quality, use this time to learn how to cook.
Use this time of isolation to educate yourself, gain some new skills, and get to know yourself on a deeper level. I want to know what you guys are doing to keep busy during this quarantine. Comment down below!!
