Finish The Story (2): “Georgia’s Secret”

“It’s such a beautiful afternoon. Maybe I should take a trip to the beach,” says Alexis. It’s Friday, the end of the workweek, and the perfect opportunity to get out of town. Initially, she thinks she should take this trip on her own but then decide to call up a few of her close friends. Tracy, of course, says yes. Tracey loves the beach just as much as Alexis does. Georgia, Alexis’s best friend since middle school, says she wants to come, but she would have to meet them there. With the crew set, Alexis packs her bag for sunbathing and fun.

A few hours later, Alexis, Tracey, and Georgia were all gathered on the beach.

While enjoying the sun and some cocktails, they shared how their week went and their plans for the upcoming week. Alexis learned that Georgia has a new boyfriend and that Tracey was well on her way to landing a life-changing promotion. Alexis shares that she will be doing some remodeling to her home within the next couple of weeks, which will mean she may need to live with either one of them until it’s finished. Everyone was happy and progressing.

Alexis noticed that Georgia wasn’t her normal outgoing, life-of-the-party self. There was something about her that was different. Alexis didn’t think too deep into it. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was enough to send a sense of relaxation and calm over them.

After lying in the sun for what seemed like forever, they decided to go for a walk along the shore.

The sun was slowly setting, and their trip was coming to an end. As the girls walked back to their vehicles, what Alexis noticed earlier about Georgia became more apparent. Georgia was a bit reserved and adamant on leaving.

Alexis stopped Georgia before getting back to their vehicles. Tracey had already situated herself into Alexis’s car and drifted off to sleep.

“Georgia, what’s going on? You’ve been a bit off today,” says Alexis.

“Alexis, I have something to tell you, but please promise that you won’t say anything to anyone,” demands Georgia.

“Of course! What is it?” asks Alexis.
