Boost and Maintain Your Confidence Today!

To be completely honest with you, I sometimes struggle to see myself as attractive.

A few mornings ago, I rolled over out of bed and walked into the bathroom to prepare for the day. I turned the lights on and stared at myself in the mirror. The first statement that came out of my mouth was, “I don’t look or feel attractive today.”

I started to feel depleted, but instead of staying in that state of funk, I went through my morning routine and completed these three things that I’m going to share with you today.

Tips to Boost Your Confidence

1.   Speak positive words of affirmations over yourself.

“The tongue has the power of life and death.”

Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)

There would be days when I would roll over out of bed, look at myself in the mirror, and think, “I don’t look pretty today.” or, “I should be further along in my career right now, but I feel as though nothing is happening for me.” In moments like that, my list of affirmations comes in handy. Whenever thoughts of dread begin to take root inside of my mind, I say this phrase out loud:

“I am a beautiful, creative, hardworking woman. I am doing my best each day to become a better version of myself. No matter how I’m feeling or what may lie ahead, I will continue to press forward with my head high!”

Once I’ve said that to myself, I give myself a minute to let those words soak into my brain, and then I get to work.

We all have those days when we wake up with our confidence meter on twenty percent. Feelings of inadequacy, fear and the inability to acknowledge ourselves for who we are and the big or small accomplishments that we’ve made can put a damper on your day. That’s why I encourage you to speak life over your life. Speaking positive words out loud about yourself can aid in the growth of your confidence.

Here are a few statements that you can say each morning.

My name is ______________, and I’m a confident, creative, beautiful, and resilient woman.

I will walk and talk with confidence today.

No matter what life throws at me today, I will exercise my faith and walk with my head held high.

2.   Exercise!

Doing some simple exercises each day can help your confidence soar to new heights. When I’m not feeling great about myself, I go for a walk to clear my head and get back on track. If I have the time, I’ll go to the gym.

Regular exercise is an excellent way to boost your confidence. Getting your body moving and blood pumping has many benefits (increased stamina, stronger body, fit better into your clothes, better health, etc.)

I will share a quick 10-minute workout that you can do a few times a week to help you boost your confidence.

*Make sure to warm up before performing any workout routine!*
-Workout:
   12 Push-Ups (4 sets)
12 Squat with Overhead Shoulder Press (4 sets)
40-seconds of Plank (4 sets)
  12 Alternating Lunges (4 sets)

Please use caution when completing this workout. Listen to your body! If an exercise is causing you pain, modify it. Please don’t make it too easy for yourself, though. If you feel that this workout is too challenging for you to do, go for a walk around your neighborhood.

3.   Spruce yourself up!!

Ladies, put on a little makeup wear clothes that actually fit and accentuate your curves. You don’t have to do a lot for yourself to begin to feel better about yourself.

This is the one tip that I use almost religiously. Putting on some lip gloss, a pair of earrings, and spraying on some glitter perfume from Bath and Body Works gives me such a confidence boost.

Here are some other ways you can spruce yourself up:

  • Get your hair done (or do your own hair)
  • Get a manicure/pedicure
  • Change up your wardrobe a bit
  • Wear perfume
  • Shave

It’s surprising what little things we can do to improve our self-confidence. It’s a daily task that requires honesty, consistency, and a positive attitude. Although you may not feel confident every single day, it’s essential that you continue to work towards building your confidence daily.

Have a wonderful day, and always remember to walk with your head high! Tell me, what are some things that you do daily to boost your confidence? Let me know in the comment section below.
