Nieshia’s Top 3 Bible Verses For Encouragement

Good day, everyone! It’s a new day, and I’m thankful to be here to experience it. How are you doing today? I hope you’re well.

I woke up to rain falling steadily outside of my window. Such a peaceful, relaxing sound it was. I lie in bed listening to the pitter-patter of the rain hitting against the window, and all of a sudden, I begin to feel a sense of discouragement.

My mind began to flood with statements like:

“You should be further along in life than this.”
“Am I ever going to have a career that I will enjoy?”
“Am I improving?”

I sat up and pondered on the questions that seemed to float freely inside of my mind. As soon as I began to fill the tears form, I grabbed my Bible journal and scribbled down what I was thinking and why I felt the way I did. Almost immediately, Deuteronomy 31:6 came to the forefront of my mind. I stood up and audibly recited that verse over and over again until I began to feel uplifted. A few moments later, I said a quick prayer, got myself together, and pressed forward with the day.

Have you ever had those moments where you felt insecure, unworthy, or stuck? I have! It’s in those moments when we should go to the Word and read about what God says about us and how He is always here with us. Don’t be discouraged.

Today, I want to share my top three favorite Bible verses. Let me go ahead and say that there are many Bible verses that I favor. Still, I will share these three that I go to regularly for encouragement, enlightenment, and courage.

Nieshia’s Top Three Bible Verses

Deuteronomy 31:6 is my number one go-to verse. I would consider this my foundational verse. When I’m not feeling my best, or something comes up in my life that causes me to fear, I automatically recite this verse.

On those days when I’m feeling less than, ill-equipped, I refer to Psalm 139:14. A couple of days ago, there was an incident that occurred that shook my confidence. Instead of falling prey to the negative emotions, I spoke Psalm 139:14 out loud, quite a few times, before pressing on with the day. This verse has gotten me through some tough times.

Let’s be honest. How many times has someone did something to you that you didn’t like, and you wanted terribly to get them back? I have! We will encounter people that will do things to hurt us. It’s not on us to get back at them. Allow God to avenge you.
