Hi, and welcome back to Armored with Faith! I hope your day and week are going well.
About a couple of months ago, it became clear that my morning routine wasn’t yielding positive daily results. I would wake up and immediately grab my phone sitting on the table next to the bed. Instead of looking for some inspiration to begin the day, I would scroll through social media and end up getting lost in a sea of nothingness.
Eventually, I would roll out of bed with a mind full of junk. I would find it challenging to get the day going. To sum it up, my morning routine needed some work!
At some point, I grew tired of waking up and not being in the best headspace to begin and get through the day. So, I developed a routine and picked up some better habits that boosted my chances of starting the day positively.
Today, I want to share some habits that you can incorporate into your morning routine to ensure a successful morning and day overall. Like with everything else, it’s going to take some consistency and intentionality to secure these habits into your daily life.

Habits To Incorporate Into Your Morning Routine
Speak Positive Thoughts Over Your Day.
Before I even think about rolling over out of bed, I thank God for allowing my family and me to see another day. With everything going on in this world today, we should be thankful for being able to wake up and carry on with our lives.
After giving thanks, I tend to say something along these lines:
“Today is going to be a blessed day.”
“I will accomplish the things I’ve set out to accomplish.”
“I am capable of achieving my goals.”
I like to create an environment of peace and success before I step into the bathroom to begin getting ready.
Let me give you some daily phrases that you can say in the mornings to get your day going on the right track.
1. Today will be a fantastic day filled with many blessings and opportunities.
2. I will accomplish my daily tasks.
3. I will push through anything that I may face today.
4. I am thankful for __________________.
5. I got this!
Say one, or more, of those phrases to start your day off right!
No electronics until after breakfast.
I know this will be tough for many of us to do, but let’s leave our phones and tablets alone for the first hour or so of us waking up. Let’s begin the day by enjoying the things that are around us. Imagine fully experiencing a quiet home, laughing children, the smell of coffee brewing, the sound of the birds chirping outside of your window. It’s calming, right?
Challenge: For the next seven days, go without your phone and tablet for the first hour of you waking up. After seven days, take a moment to document the results of completing this challenge.
If you’re like me and have a tough time getting out of bed in the mornings, try doing some simple exercises. Morning exercise is a great way to wake you up and get your blood pumping. 20-30 minutes of exercise can get you into better shape and help increase your mood.
Here are some simple exercises for you to do first thing in the morning to get your heart pumping.
1. Jumping Jacks
4. Alternating Lunges
The goal is to complete three sets of twelve for each exercise you choose. Give it all you got!
Create Your Daily To-Do List.
Last but not least, the to-do list. You’re going to hear me talking about this a lot because it’s a great way to keep up with your daily tasks.
Once you’re out of bed, grab your planner or a simple sticky note, and write out everything you need to get done that day. You can be as detailed as you want or keep it short and straightforward. It’s up to you.
Your mornings are a great time to fill the day with positivity and productivity. Whatever the day holds, stay focused, positive, and always walk with your head held high.
