Hi, and welcome! How are you doing? I hope you’re having a fantastic day and week so far.
Today, I want to share a bit of a life update with you. This year, 2022, will be a year of significant changes and new beginnings.
From Stay-At-Home Mom To Working Mom
As a mom, you take on a lot of roles. Not only are you a mom, but you become a nurse, motivational speaker, maid, and so on. Being at home with my kids full time has been a roller coaster ride. There have been many highs and numerous lows. The most significant joy in my stay-at-home journey has been the ability to tap into my teaching skills.
As a kid, I loved teaching. My younger brother and I used to have a classroom set up in the den of our house where we taught our students (stuffed animals) different subjects. I truly enjoyed being a teacher to my many stuffed animals. Whenever I sit down to prepare a learning lesson with my kids, I think about those times. To be able to teach your kids and have fun in the process is a blessing.
As much as I love being home with my kids, the time has come for me to jump back into being a working mom.
I’m a bit nervous and excited about being able to provide for my family. I’m worried because my kids won’t be in my care all day, and the thought of them being in the care of someone else makes my nerves rattle. I know that proper planning, plenty of prayers, and encouragement from those around me will calm my nerves during this time of transition.
What’s Next For Me?
I knew that being at home with the kids was temporary, but I didn’t realize how fast time flew by until 2022 started. During my time at home, I utilized my “free time” by building up Armored with Faith and studying new skills.
My goal, career-wise, is to become a Project Manager. Becoming a Project Manager is something I’d wanted to do for a while now but never thought I had what it took to be good at it. I thought my introversion would deem me ill-equipped, but I refuse to let it interfere with my goal of advancing in a career I know I can excel in.
Why Project Management?
It’s an exciting yet nerve-wracking time of transition right now! As someone who is highly task-oriented, organized, and goal-focused, I feel that Project Management would be the right career path for me. Being able to aid in creating and seeing projects through would allow me to utilize the skills that I already have and learn some new skills.
During my journey to becoming and working as a project manager, I will be documenting it here on Armored with Faith. There will be a separate tab titled “Project Management” (coming soon!), which will be full of information regarding the field of project management and my personal journey to becoming and working in project management.

A Message For Those Who Are In A Season Of Change
If you’re in a season in your life where there’s a lot of change happening, I want to encourage you to stay focused on your goal(s). There will be times when you’re going to want to give up. You’re going to wonder if you’re qualified for whatever you’re going after. Let me assure you that YOU ARE CAPABLE OF DOING ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO DO!
Proverbs 4:25 says, “Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.” On your journey of bettering yourself, there is no doubt that you will be faced with difficulty. In those times of difficulty, you grow more and become stronger. Although it may be tough to do, I encourage you to stay strong! Stay focused! I know that you know that you’re capable of striving and thriving.
Ways To Level-Up Daily
No matter what season you are in, you should be doing things daily to improve yourself. These are five things that you can do each and every day to level up:
- Learn a new skill (Do something challenging! Learn a new language, try knitting, try your hand at drawing. Whatever skill you choose, make sure to have fun.)
- Exercise at least four times a week
- Read for a minimum of one hour a day (if you have more time to read, do so!)
- Journal your thoughts, goals, prayers, and anything that comes to mind.
- Always wear a smile on your face!
- What are some areas in your life that require improvement? What are some steps that you plan to take to make those improvements?
- How are you feeling at this current moment?
- Who inspires you? Why?
- Write down 10 things that you love about yourself.
- What are you grateful for today? Why?
