Moments with Me Ep.1

Hi, and welcome! If you’re new here, my name is Nieshia. I’m an avid writer and creative. I’m happy that you’re joining today!

I’m starting a new series titled “Moments with Me.” In this series, I will share moments from my life, things I’ve learned, products I’ve been loving, books I’m currently reading, etc. I’m excited about opening up more with you and sharing more about myself.

Ready?

I know I am!

Let’s get started!

What Have I Been Up To Lately?

Growth is Good!

This year has been a roller coaster.

I’m in this process of growing and bettering myself, and I’ve recently learned something that changed how I was going about things. I have been holding onto hurt and pain for many years. Instead of dealing with that pain, uprooting it, and moving forward, I was bottling it up (do you do this, too?).

It came to a head when I made a comment that hurt someone’s feelings. After sitting down with them, the person mentioned something that made perfect sense. She said, “hurt people hurt people.” That statement couldn’t be more accurate. I was hurt and still hurting. I needed to take some time to get to the root of my hurt, uproot it, and move on.

To become a better version of myself, I need to let go of thoughts, memories, hurts, people, and habits that are holding me back. I’m making the conscious decision to limit or restrict access to certain people and things that may negatively trigger me. I’m also incorporating more time for journaling, exercise, and healthy eating.

This journey will be challenging, but I’m ready and willing to do the work.

If you are on a journey to becoming a better version of yourself, I have some tips for you:

Books I’m Currently Reading!

At this current moment, I’m reading three books:

  1. The Bible (specifically, The Book of Psalms)
  2. “The Well-Watered Woman” by Gretchen Saffles
  3. “Finding Me” by Viola Davis

So, the last book was purchased by one of my children.

Let me tell you a story.

I usually leave my kindle on my treasure chest in our learning room. No one ever bothers with it, so I didn’t think to move it.

One day, I was cleaning, and I received an email from Amazon thanking me for my recent purchase. Puzzled, I quickly opened the email to see what I “purchased.” The email informed me that I’d made a kindle purchase. At this point, I’m confused because I’m nowhere near my kindle.

Something told me to go and see what the kids were doing.

I walk into the learning room and found both children hovering over my kindle (mind you, they are 4 and 2). I snatched my kindle up before they could make any more purchases. Little did I know, they had purchased ANOTHER book. Luckily, it was by one of my favorite authors.

I learned my lesson and moved my kindle to where they couldn’t reach it.

Make-Up I’ve Been Loving!

Ever since I was in elementary school, I’ve had this obsession with lip products.

Lipstick, lip gloss, lip scrubs, lip balm, I loved them all!

My obsession grew as soon as I became an adult. My first “big girl” job gave me more of the ability to afford the lip products that I loved. I’ve come across some great lip products lately that I can honestly say is worth the money.

So, here are my top 4 current lip obsessions!

What are some of your favorite make-up products that you’re currently loving? Let me know in the comments below!
