Journey to Fit (Ep.3): Progress over Perfection

“Focus on progress not perfection.”

Hi, and welcome to Armored with Faith! If you’re new here, my name is Nieshia! I am an avid writer and overall creative person. On this blog, we discuss the topics of faith, fitness, and lifestyle. So, join us! Make sure to like, comment, and subscribe!

It’s the beginning of a new month, and I’m excited to say that I am back with more fitness content!

Let me be honest; these past few months have not been the best for me. I fell completely off my fitness routine, which resulted in some setbacks. I allowed the many stressors of life to take over. Not only did I drop off my workout routine, but I also began to notice some unhealthy eating habits. Either I was eating too much or barely eating at all.

At the end of last month, I promised myself I would return to doing what was working. By getting back into my exercise routine, I would put myself back on track to becoming a healthier, fitter version of myself.

I decided to bring you along instead of keeping my fitness journey to myself. So, be on the lookout for more fitness-related content such as:

  • Journey to Fit (personal fitness content)
  • Monthly Workout Challenge (click here for August’s challenge!)

Progress This Week!

I’m so happy to be back on my fitness journey. It feels incredible to be moving my body again, getting stronger, and looking forward to fitting my clothes better!

This week, I worked out three days (Monday, Tuesday, and Friday). I followed the workout plan I created for us (click here to check out August’s exercise Challenge!)

I struggled through the push-ups and plank, but by Friday, I was finding it much easier to get through those particular exercises.

In addition to the workout plan, I also walked/jogged 3-4 times this week! Walking/jogging out in nature is good for your physical health and benefits your mental and emotional health, too!

While out on my evening strolls, I could think and process what had been bothering me. I can take long, deep breaths and focus on where I currently am. I can enjoy the beautiful, big pine trees along the paved path. I can pray and be thankful for what God has done for me. I’m at peace when I’m out in nature.

Overall, I give myself an “A” for sticking to and enjoying getting back into the swing of exercising again!

Before You Go…

Also, let me know how you’re doing in your fitness journey. I cannot wait to hear from you!
